Future Directions – Where to from here ?

The GSDCA Future Directions Workshop (FDW) “A Shared Vision for the German Shepherd Dog Council of Australia (GSDCA)” was held in Melbourne on 19, 20 & 21 October 2012.

The FDW was very well attended by Member Clubs and provided all present an opportunity to listen, provide their input and make recommendations with regard to the future of the GSDCA.

The GSDCA is the Member Clubs and it is those clubs that control the Council’s destiny; the GSDCA Executive is elected to administer and deliver what the Member Clubs, through a democratic process, decide are Council’s objectives.

The FDW was structured so that in the first instance the Member Clubs gave presentations on how they operate and the challenges they face. This was the first national forum where Member Clubs gave such an insight into local operations and allowed all of us to learn how different and yet, how similar the business model and challenges are for each club.

The second element of the FDW was to receive feedback on who we are and scope out the future for the GSDCA and its Member Clubs.
