Memorial Trophies

A number of memorial trophies are awarded each year at the National German Shepherd Dog Show and Trial.

These are:

  • Roy Brabham Memorial Trophy
  • Walter Henry Reimann Memorial Trophy
  • David O'Rourke Memorial Trophy
  • Rick Richardson Memorial Trophy

Roy Brabham was the founder of the GSDCA.  A Roy Brabham Memorial Trophy was first awarded at the 3rd National Show and Trial held in Dandenong, Victoria.  There were two Roy Brabham trophies - one awarded to Challenge Dog and one awarded to Challenge Bitch.  Each bore the inscription "In memory of Roy Brabham, the founder of the GSDCA Inc".

Today, the Roy Brabham Memorial Trophy is awarded only to the Challenge winning Bitch at National GSD Shows.

Walter Henry Reimann was a long time Editor of the Council's early magazines.  Today, the Walter Henry Reimann Memorial Trophy is awarded to the Challenge winning Dog at National GSD Shows.
 

david o'rourke memorial trophy

The David O'Rourke Memorial Trophy is awarded to the best Dual Performance Winner at each National Show and Trial.
 

rick richardson memorial trophy

The Rick Richardson Memorial was awarded for the first time to the Gold Medal Obedience Winner/Winner of Winners of the Obedience Trial at the 38th National Show and Trial.
