Harmonisation update: clarification

WUSV Harmonisation – further information received

Re: Further Clarification with regard to a ‘FAIL’ in ZAP Part 1.
We have received the following advice from the CDO: Failure in ZAP Part 1 is based on the dog not passing the gun test or if it is found to be aggressive or shy. It can proceed to the next stage where those elements are assessed again.
Based on further questioning the CDO provided the following: “If you can fail ZAP Part 1 and still proceed it can be assumed it is not mandatory in Germany.”

Members are advised of the following:
· Failure in ZAP Part 1 is based on the dog not passing the gun test or if it is found to be aggressive or shy. It can proceed to the next stage where those elements are assessed again.
· There will be no compulsion on anyone needing to undertake this test – in reality it is not a prerequisite for BH and or CD with BH traffic test.

· Please note: current practice does not see us subject puppies to the gun test before they are 12 months of age.

o This will need to be revisited if ZAP Part 1 test is accepted by the membership.
