The German Shepherd Dog Council of Australia produces special publications to aid and record the development of the German Shepherd Dog in Australia.

Publications include, A Condensed History of the German Shepherd Dog in Australia and Breed Survey Year Books.

A Condensed History of the German Shepherd Dog in Australia, as the breed developed from 1904 to 1989 :
 

A Condensed History of the German Shepherd Dog in Australia - Published September 1990   Contents : GSDCA - About the Council, its founding, its Presidents and long dedication of the GSD fraternity. Pre-Ban Era 1899 to1929 - Major imports and subsequent breeding. Discrimination 1929 to1972 and Beyond - Federal, State and Territory Issues on the Bans. Notable GSD Personalities from Yesteryear - From patrons to enthusiasts. The First National GSD Show 1967 - Held in Sydney, NSW. Golden Jubilee Edition - “A Condensed History of the German Shepherd Dog in Australia” :

A proposed Golden Jubilee Edition, an update and revision of the 1990 publication, “A Condensed History of the German Shepherd Dog in Australia” has been planned to celebrate the first 50 years of the GSDCA.

The Golden Jubilee Edition is due to be published late 2010, to celebrate the GSDCA’s 50th birthday and the ambitious project is proceeding on schedule. The emphasis of the publication will be on the Council’s first 50 years, but will also include reprinting approximately sixty to seventy (60 -70%) of the original publication.

To assist with the planning and funding for this ambitious project, we are seeking your immediate support via advertising in this prestigious publication, of at least 400 pages.  We are requesting a deposit up front with your booking and the balance will be payable on or before March 31, 2010, with a reminder being sent to you in February 2010.

Front Cover Sample Page	GSDCA Breed Survey Year Book 2009 We are pleased to advise that the 2009 Breed Survey Book has been finalised and is currently at the printers. If everything goes to plan the 2009 Breed Survey Book will be available for collection at the National Show and Trial to be held in Melbourne 30th April to 2nd May 2010. Affiliate Club Secretaries have been sent an order form for their Club detailing the numbers required for sale to members. These forms need to be returned to the National Breed Commission Chairman, Joylene Neddermeyer, by Friday 16th April 2010. The 2004 Breed Survey Book was the first in the revised format and certainly lifted the bar of the production to higher level which was very well accepted by the fraternity as a whole. This 2009 Breed Survey Book will once again raise the bar to indeed an even higher level and we believe it will be very well accepted by the members whom will appreciate the up to date breed information and direction, presented like never before. We believe that there is not a Breed Survey Book anywhere in the world that will equal its production. When you realize that the content is prepared by volunteer labour, it is truly incredible. It is indeed appropriate that the 2009 Breed Survey Book in the 50th Anniversary of the German Shepherd Dog Council of Australia will be produced in colour. This has seen the introduction of colour photographs (except for one) for all animals presented to Breed Survey during the 2009 Breed Survey season. The cost of the 2009 Breed Survey Book payable to the German Shepherd Dog Council of Australia by the Clubs is $40.00 (inc GST) and the price for sale to the members is $45.00 (inc GST). Non-members of GSDCA Affiliate Clubs can arrange order and delivery through the National Breed Commission Chairman, Joylene Neddermeyer (+61 3 5022 0393). Members of the New Zealand German Shepherd Dog Breed Advisory Council need to arrange order and delivery through Jan Saltiel (+64 7 888 1809).
	Breed Survey Year Books - Published by April, in the year following the previous Breed Survey Year,  which ends  on the 30th November. - New A4 Format - Includes pictures of the surveyed dogs and bitches.  Contents : Breed Surveys - Indexed details of all dogs and bitches that have been successfully Breed Surveyed throughout Australia for that particular calendar year. Includes pictures where available. Breed Survey Analysis - Surveyed Animals by Classification and State. Surveyed Males by Height and State. Surveyed Females by Height and State. Surveyed Animals by Sire. Hip and Elbow X-ray Scheme - Hip and Elbow Results and Analysis. Tooth Certificates Issued - Successful results Listing by certificate number. Breed Survey Declassified - List of animals that have had their Breed Survey Classification removed.
